It has been the main refugee producing country for 32 years. More than 2.5 million continue to take refuge in the countries of the region, especially in Pakistan and Iran.
Stateless persons in Myanmar –people with no nationality- are at least 800,000. More than 10 stadiums like Santiago Bernabéu could be filled with them. Outside the country there are more than 215,000 refugees.
The Democratic Republic of Congo, the poorest country in the world, also has multiple natural resources that have been cause of conflicts, rapes and deaths for decades. There are around 2,6 million internally displaced persons.
It breaks sad records of deaths and attacks every day. The country has 750,000 refugees and 1,2 million of IDPs and hosts almost 150,000 syrian refugees that have searched for safety and have fled war in their country.
The poorest country in the Horn of Africa, subjected to conflict, drought, famine and a shortage of resources. 20 years of war have forced more than 1 million to flee the country and other 1 million people are internally displaced.

Kenya takes in 630,000 refugees -the great majority Somalian- in two regions in the country. One of them, Dadaab, is now the largest refugee camp in the world. It was created in 1991 to host 90,000 refugees, but now there are almost 500,000 persons living there.
Pakistan is the country that hosts –and did in the past- the largest figures of refugees worldwide. It is actually home to 1,600,000 Afghan refugees. However, many Afghans have decided to return to their country in the latest years.
900,000 Afghans have taken shelter in this country during the latest decades. Only 3% of them live in camps, the majority are urban refugees.
